Online conferencing is an internet application that organises virtual conferences, meetings, and training sessions between people in different locations. It is a synchronous collaboration tool (all participants see and hear the same thing at the same time) that runs on standard web browsers (Firefox, IE, Chrome, etc.).

Different communication channels can be set up between participants:

  • a data connection (presentation or data or sharing applications)
  • an audio connection (telephone, VoIP, etc.)
  • a video connection can even be added to your online conference.

Webinars consume little bandwidth (small videos size and jpeg images), and are ideal for live broadcasting and sharing recordings on local networks or when working with limited bandwidth.

In post-production, the viewer has direct access to any part of the video through chapters or a search engine that searches within the slides.
